Acupuncture and Moxibustion

Acupuncture and moxibustion can be used to stimulate nerves and muscle tissue, and also to treat a wide range of health conditions. While acupuncture involves the use of very fine needles, moxibustion is the burning of the mugwort plant on or near the skin; this is also usually on or near to an acupuncture point.

What is the difference between Japanese acupuncture and Chinese acupuncture? Put simply, Japanese acupuncture needles are thinner than Chinese ones, and so the chance of feeling any discomfort is less.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a type of deep tissue massage. Like acupuncture, shiatsu aids the flow of energy through your body. For shiatsu treatments you should wear loose fitting clothes; there is no need for the practitioner to touch your skin directly.

Experience means that Takako is able to ascertain the correct amount of pressure required to treat each individual client, which does differ between each person. Shiatsu is one of her most popular treatments.

Takako is also able to perform combination treatments – with acupuncture and moxibustion – which are particularly effective for the relief of stress, headaches and musculoskeletal problems. Please contact her to discuss the most suitable options for your condition.
