In the last 6 months, we have seen a 126% rise in the number of newborns (0-12months of age) that have come to our practice for chiropractic treatment.
The main source of referrals has been word of mouth within the community through friends, family and local healthcare providers who have all seen positive changes in babies that have been treated by members of our team and are keen to recommend us.
Chiropractic care given to babies is very different to that which is given to a patient for common conditions such as low back pain and it is recommended that you take your baby to a chiropractor that is specifically trained in this field.
Why would you take your baby to see a chiropractor?
Common reasons include difficulty breastfeeding, including such problems such as latching on. Certain reflexes can be assessed by your chiropractor such as the sucking reflex and there may be cranial releases that can be carried out to help resolve this issue.
Chiropractic for babies with this condition is now very much recognised and is recommended by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
An unsettled baby, which may result from interutero constraints (while baby is developing in the womb) and the delivery process. This can cause craniocervical dysfunction, which chiropractic adjustments can safely and effectively eliminate.
Cases are individual and therefore it is advisable for those who would like to find out more about it, come to the clinic and have a free 30 minute consultation and assessment. There is no obligation to book future treatment. If we do not think we can help you, with our knowledge of local services, we will point you in the direction of the person that can!
